Telecom gateway systems maker Excelocity is teaming up with California-based Mindspeed Technologies to develop voice-over-Internet-protocol (VoIP) technology, the two companies announced today.
Ottawa-based Excelocity said its carrier-class XL-Gateway Framework software development kit has been integrated with Newport Beach, Calif.-based Mindspeed's Comcerto 300 Series access processors.
The partnership will help telecom and enterprise equipment vendors cut product development costs and time to market by referring to Excelocity and Mindspeed's call-control framework to develop signalling and call control application products such as multimedia routers and IP-digital subscriber access multiplexers.
Mindspeed also added that its Comcerto 300 Series evaluation boards include local chip maker Zarlink's subscriber line access and interface controller technology.
