Atreus Systems has won an order from California-based mobile communications company De-Fi Mobile Ltd.

Ottawa-based Atreus, which makes provisioning solutions for converged Internet protocol services, said De-Fi has selected its Multi-Service Activation software to automate the delivery of media-rich, advanced IP features and global voice services to mobile users.

"De-Fi is highly regarded for its advanced IP Mobile Carrier platform for voice communications and is committed to delivering innovative mobile applications with an improved user experience," said Atreus CEO Andrea Baptiste in a statement.

"There is a strong need for a provisioning platform that can help operators take advantage of services from diverse sources and blend them together flexibly to meet the changing needs of an increasingly sophisticated market. We are pleased to be working with De-Fi to bring a higher-quality, more productive self-care experience to their customers."

Atreus's automated activation solution will be used in De-Fi's new Straight Talk service, which allows mobile customers to make calls to numbers across the globe and access the Internet using wireless Wi-Fi at an affordable price.
