Ottawa-based Fidus Systems has acquired the business of Fabridyne Electronics of Toronto and opened a new electronic design centre in that city.

Fabridyne founder Carl Stacy will become part of the Fidus Design team in

Toronto.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

"Fabridyne's business and Carl's expertise combine to strengthen our presence and commitment in Toronto, Waterloo and southern Ontario," says Fidus president Michael Wakim. "We have already signed contracts to deliver designs for a number of Toronto customers. We anticipate a strong return on investment."

Fidus' Toronto design centre is located in Woodbridge. The operation provides electronic system design, including hardware and FPGA, PCB layout, mechanical, embedded software and high-speed signal integrity analysis.

Fidus supplies electronic designs for industrial control systems, transportation, consumer products, telecommunications equipment, aerospace and defence and other sectors.
