The envision Group has won a new $2.3-million contract with the University of Calgary, adding on to a string of recent deals in Western Canada.

The Ottawa-based environmental services group said its wholly owned subsidiary, Western Construction and Combustion Services Inc., has been awarded a contract to remove the existing glazing system at the university and to install new structural steel, aluminum and glass skylights complete with electrically operated blinds.

"Being awarded the contract to upgrade this landmark building holds a personal significance," said the group's CEO Frank D'Addario in a statement, noting that he had attended a director's education program and received an Institute of Corporate Directors' at the university's Haskayne School of Business.

"It's been a remarkable year for us. We're exceeding our strategic action plan," he added.

The latest deal is the third win for the group through the Western Construction subsidiary since it bought the Calgary-based business in January of this year, with the contracts awarded through Western Construction worth a total estimated amount of $14.3 million.

The new contract is in addition to The envision Group's current standing offer agreements and multi-year contracts, the company added.
