International Datacasting Corp. (TSX:IDC) has won its second deal in New Zealand through its partner AVW, one which will see the satellite products company upgrading a radio network of 128 stations.
The Ottawa-based company said New Zealand-based The Radio Network will use IDC's SuperFlex Pro Audio solutions to modernize the broadcaster's satellite distribution network.
"The selection of our SuperFlex Pro Audio products by The Radio Network is a great endorsement of the product. We are proud to have them as a customer," said IDC chief executive Ron Clifton in a statement. "The IP (Internet protocol) network fundamentals of this system mean that it easily integrates into modern broadcast environments and will migrate easily to meet the future needs of our customers."
IDC's system will allow for live satellite feeds to be integrated with automated local program and ad insertion.
The Radio Network's stations operate across 26 markets in New Zealand, the company said, and its lineup includes popular rock music station Radio Hauraki which was formerly run by radio pirates which broadcasts in 15 markets across the country.
The deal follows one in April where IDC's solution was chosen by New Zealand's RadioWorks to modernize its network which reaches more than 300 different locations throughout the country.
Including the two New Zealand deals, IDC has won four major orders in the Asia Pacific region this year.
Terms of the Radio Network deal were not disclosed.
