March Networks (TSX:MN) has snagged its second deal in the Middle East for its VideoSphere product, with the customer ordering more than 600 Internet protocol (IP) cameras.

The Ottawa-based company said an unnamed large international hospitality group had selected the VideoSphere intelligent video management solution for installation at four "premier properties" in the United Arab Emirates.

"We are very pleased to provide our VideoSphere solution to this prominent customer as it extends its IP video surveillance capabilities to additional commercial properties," said March Networks CEO Peter Strom in a statement. "Our intelligent video management portfolio delivers the scalability and high performance required by commercial property operators worldwide and we look forward to increasing our presence in this segment of the market further in the months to come."

The order follows an initial deployment at one of the group's principal luxury hotels in the region, the company said.

The customer will use the March Networks solution to monitor two additional hotels, a large retail complex and an entertainment value.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, although March Networks spokesperson Peter Wilenius said the deal was in the "high six figures, almost seven figures."

In June, March Networks announced that the same customer had chosen its CIEFFE subsidiary's IP video management solution – including 160 IP cameras – for an initial implementation at a UAE hotel.

"There's a lot of infrastructure build in the Middle East, and these were markets we couldn't address previously, but with our acquisition of CIEFFE, these are new vertical and regional markets we can now address," said Mr. Wilenius. "It's a good sign we are executing on our sales strategy."

Shares of March Networks enjoyed gains in the afternoon following the announcement, increasing by 13 cents to $2.95 at 1:03 p.m.
