Local graphics software maker Exocortex Technologies has teamed up with Montreal's Softimage Co. to work on 3D fluid simulation solutions together.
Three-year-old Exocortex announced yesterday that it has entered into a strategic development relationship with Softimage which will see the two companies developing interactive fluid simulation software using Softimage's ICE modelling platform.
"Softimage has always been an innovator, and we are delighted to be working with them to advance the state of the art for 3D visual effects - for linear media, such as film and television, interactive and gaming applications," said Exocortex's founder and chief technology officer Ben Houston in a statement.
The company said it will be working to "develop and introduce new techniques for solving interaction between fluids and objects in a 3D environment built on the Softimage ICE platform."
Exocortex added it hopes to target the gaming industry, government agencies, intelligence communities and the legal community with its data visualization software.
