Ottawa-based Acron Capability Engineering, a company with offices in Ottawa, Gatineau and New Brunswick, announced this week a strategic business alliance with Krauss Maffei Wegmann (KMW) Military Training and Simulation of Munich, Germany.

Under the terms of the deal, Acron will be KMW's partner in Canada for training and simulation systems in the defence and security space. To launch the partnership, the two companies said in a release they've "joined forces to develop and deploy best-in-class training systems in Canada for the army's Leopard 2A6 main battle tank."

KMW Training and Simulation has developed training equipment for both military and civilian applications for more than 30 years, and Acron currently provides services at the CFB Gagetown's Combat Training Centre.

"The synergy, experience, and expertise of our two companies will produce training systems of excellent value and scope for Canada's front-line soldiers," said John Nicol, CEO of Acron, in a statement.
