Ottawa's Axentra Corp., developers of HipServ home server software, announced Tuesday that its platform has been selected by France Telecom's Orange as the wireless service provider's first home server solution.

The servers will be deployed in conjunction with Orange's HomeLibrary service, which both companies say will enable customers to store digital media such as music, pictures and video "anywhere, anytime and on any device."

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"The choice of HipServ as the software foundation for Orange's HomeLibrary offering by France Telecom, one of most innovative and successful service providers, is a formidable validation that Axentra is leading the way when it comes to service provider home server platforms implementation," said Marc-Antoine Benglia, chief executive officer of Axentra, in a statement.
