Spatial services company Ambercore Software Inc. announced Thursday that it sold its Titan mobile laser scanning system to Portland, Ore.-based David Evans and Associates (DEA) Inc.
DEA said it was impressed with the system after using it in highway surveys in Colorado and Oregon.
Titan helps improve highway design by collecting information about engineering grades while being used at highway speeds. It has finished more than 50 North American projects thus far.
Also, its internal positional system lets surveyors map where they are even if GPS is not available in the area Titan is surveying.
