Ottawa's BreconRidge Corp., a provider of design and manufacturing services for electronic products, and AFORE Solutions Inc., another Ottawa-based technology company, announced Tuesday the formation of a strategic partnership.

The partnership, according to BreconRidge, "will enable customers to exploit the best of each company's core strengths," according to a release. The companies said they hope to offer a solution for vertically integrated engineering and manufacturing, including collaborative design and manufacturing and total product outsourcing.

"BreconRidge's collaborative design and manufacturing competencies, coupled with AFORE's advanced systems development capabilities offers a unique value proposition to OEM's requiring product development as well as manufacturing services" said Cyril McKelvie, president and CEO of BreconRidge, in a statement.

AFORE's president and CEO Alex Berlin agreed, adding: "Our strategic partnership offers an exciting future for our mutual and new customers with the ability to offer complete design and manufacturing solutions."

Thanks to the new partnership, BreconRidge said it hopes to be able to expand the scope of their product life-cycle services to include embedded software and systems development.
