Q3 revenues of Wi-LAN, Inc. (TSX:WIN) jumped 50 per cent over those of the last quarter, according to figures released by the company Tuesday.
Revenues were $4.8 million compared to $3.2 million in Q2, an increase of $1.6 million.
Pro forma earnings were $494,000 or one cent per share, an improvement over the loss of $540,000 posted in Q2.
Net loss also improved slightly; this quarter's $3.5 million, or four cents per share, is $600,000 more than the $4.1 million net loss last quarter.
The company pointed to the signing of 12 wireless, 12 V-chip and one DSL licenses in this quarter as a key factor in the revenue increase.
"We negotiated agreements with 25 new licensees that will positively contribute to our business over the next several years," said Jim Skippen, president and CEO of the Ottawa-based broadband wireless developer, in a statement.
"Considering our licensing achievements in the third quarter and early in the fourth quarter, our licensing program is delivering strong results in the second half of our fiscal 2008."
Revenue projections for this fiscal year will likely range between $24.5 million and $25.5 million, the company added, with pro forma earnings between $8 million and $9.5 million.
