RAMTelecom Inc. (TSX-V:RTC) is expanding its satellite network's coverage with the signing of a new agreement with Washington, D.C.-based Intelsat General Corp.

The Ottawa-based company said it had inked a master service agreement with Intelsat which would allow RAMTelecom to take advantage of its new partner's worldwide satellite network.

RAMTelecom said the deal would centralize telecommunications needs for the international branches of its large enterprise clients, especially in the resource sector.

"Although the potential revenues from the Intelsat initiative cannot be forecasted at this time, we are confident our global blueprint of RAMTelecom's value-added solutions will be received positively in the market," said RAMTelecom CEO Ralph Misener in a statement, calling the partnership a "natural progression" in the expansion of its services.

The agreement adds on to RAMTelecom's Global IP satellite service, launched in January, which provides communication services to large mining operations, oil and gas camps, and Internet service providers servicing northern communities.
