C-COM Satellite Systems Inc. has won a US$650,000 order from a new customer in Asia.
The Ottawa-based maker of mobile satellite antennas said an Asian television station had made an initial order for a number of its iNetVu Mobile systems for satellite news gathering.
"The market for satellite news-gathering (SNG) antenna systems using high-performance, cost-effective antennas such as the iNetVu is starting to gain momentum in Asia," said C-COM chief executive Leslie Klein in a statement. "Many TV stations worldwide are in the process of upgrading their satellite news-gathering capabilities by acquiring high-performing cost-effective SNG systems and the iNetVu is well-positioned to meet this need."
C-COM said other customers in North America, China and Europe have also already deployed several of its iNetVu antennas for satellite news-gathering.
