Seprotech Systems Inc. has booked $1.4 million in new orders in the mining and municipal sectors.
The Ottawa-based water and wastewater treatment systems maker said one of the deals was a $500,000 project for its proprietary stormwater management system that it acquired through its acquisition of B.C's P.J. Hannah Equipment Sales Corp., which Seprotech acquired at the end of 2007.
The system prevents the discharge of large quantities of floatable material and solids that would otherwise enter rivers and lakes during stormwater runoff periods.
"We're happy to see these complementary technologies entering our sales channel," said Seprotech CEO Martin Hauschild in a statement. "The global focus on the environment is generating considerable interest in our range of product offerings so the introduction of this stormwater management technology is timely."
The company said the remaining $900,000 of orders by several land developers and mining companies are for standardized ROTORDISK package plant wastewater treatement systems.
