OCRI has launched a new web-based tool for Ottawa's high tech marketing community.

OCRI's new Zone5ive web portal www.zone5ive.com is meant to supplement the monthly series of professional development events which have been running since 1996.

"The website will complement the professional development series, acting as a resource for technology marketing practioners to access industry-specific information, tools and resources, " says Kathy Mahoney, OCRI's vice president of corporate programs.

The Zone5ive forum is aimed at further developing the skill base of Ottawa's present and emerging technology marketers. It aims to provide a highly focused networking environment and informal coaching of small and medium sized companies.

"We want to help improve high-tech marketing 365 days of the year," says Gwen Avery, chair of the Zone5ive program committee. "The new web site has the resources, tips and tools to help for the days in between Zone5ive presentations. It's a comprehensive approach: meet us monthly at the events, and surf our website daily for new insights."

Visitors to the web portal can read the tip of the month, see definitions of marketing terms, scan the region for industry events, view the latest articles and books and download a marketing plan template to help individuals and organizations create a high-level marketing strategy. The site offers advice in several areas, including general marketing, branding, public/analyst/investor relations, lead generation, internet marketing and channels.
