Wi-LAN has signed up six new licensees for its wireless and V-chip patents with a month to go before the end of its third quarter.
The Ottawa-based patent licensing firm said in an update on its licensing activities in the current period that it had inked running royalty licences for wireless-related technologies with San Jose's Sena Technologies Inc. and Monsoon Multimedia of San Mateo, Calif.
Sena has signed a six-year licence for Wi-LAN's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi patents, while Monsoon has agreed to pay royalties to use Wi-LAN's Wi-Fi technology for the same period of time.
The two new licensees add to two other deals won earlier in the quarter, bringing the total number of licensees signed to date to 25, Wi-LAN said.
The company also announced that it had signed running royalty licence agreements for the U.S. patents of its V-chip television parental control technology, with Shanghai Weixin Electronics Co. Ltd., Yung Fu Technology Electrical Corp., Soultech Ltd. and Hong Kong's Tunbow Electronics Ltd.
The four new agreements bring the total number of V-chip licensees signed to date to 86.
