Bridgewater Systems has teamed up with a New Jersey-based company to offer a solution which allows wireless operators to manage subscribers' devices when they use Internet while on the move.
Ottawa-based Bridgewater said it has integrated Mformation Technologies Inc.'s Service Manager product into its service control and subscriber data management solution.
The solution will help WiMAX operators automatically detect, provision and manage various types of subscriber devices, without having to pre-provision for the devices and without the need for subscribers to contact the operator to plug into the wireless device and activate service.
Basically, the integrated solution allows Mformation Service Manager to track, in real time, new WiMAX devices that register with the wireless network and informs operators when devices require updates.
"Bridgewater enjoys a solid reputation for proven interoperability with a broad range of vendors, and is committed to building a rich WiMAX ecosystem that enables our customers to deploy best-of-breed solutions," stated Farshid Mohammadi, Bridgewater vice-president of product line management. "The combination of Mformation's market-leading devices management capabilities with Bridgewater's carrier-grade service control solution provides a scalable approach to provisioning and managing the wide array of devices that will be connected to WiMAX networks."
