Tundra Semiconductor Corp. is providing its RapidIO interconnect component to leading European embedded computing company VMETRO.
Ottawa-based Tundra said VMETRO had selected the Tsi578 Serial RapidIO Switch for VMETRO's new quad-core processing engine and single-board computer.
"VMETRO's selection of the Tsi578 demonstrates the positive market response to our leading-edge products," said Tundra vice-president of marketing Tracy Richardson in a statement. "In addition to using Tundra's industry-leading VME Bridge, the Tsi148, critical embedded system customers are now making use of RapidIO switches to enhance performance and add scalability to their next-generation designs."
The Tsi578 switch is a plug-in interconnect design that makes the transportation of data between components more efficient.
VMETRO will be using the switch to create systems that provide high processing power for demanding applications such as radar and signal intelligence.
