Mitel has landed a deal with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to provide its unified communications solution to the chain's administration and guest rooms.
Ottawa-based Mitel said Rosewood will be using its pure Internet protocol (IP) Mitel hospitality solution for multiple properties in the U.S. and Mexico.
Rosewood's chief operating officer Bob Boulogne said the chain had selected Mitel because its technology would not need to be changed every few years.
"Rosewood required a solution that would bring our luxury properties to the next level of customer service while increasing our staff productivity, and reduce costs with the promise of implementing applications cost-effectively for years to come," Mr. Boulogne said in a statement. "We chose Mitel because it delivers on this capability and with the support from (authorized Mitel dealer) DCI, the implementation has been seamless."
Rosewood is deploying Mitel's 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICP) at its 128-suite, 1,600-acre Mayakoba luxury resort enclave in Riviera Maya, Mexico. As well, the resort chain will use Mitel's 3300 ICP system at its new 42-storey The Mansion on Peachtree property in Atlanta, which combines a 127-room ultra-luxury hotel with 45 residences, and is scheduled to open in May.
The resorts will have three Mitel IP phones and cordless handsets in each guest room, and SpectraLink wireless handsets for administrative staff.
