March Networks is teaming up with Sun Microsystems Inc. to sell video surveillance products combined with high-density storage servers.
Ottawa-based March Networks said it will be pairing its VideoSphere video management software and systems with the energy-efficient Sun Fire x64 servers, which allow up to 48 terabytes of video storage capacity.
"March Networks is focused on providing organizations with premium solutions that drive efficiency and return on investments, regardless of their position on the IP (Internet protocol) adoption curve," said March CEO Peter Strom in a statement. "Partnering with Sun one of the IT industry's leading server storage providers creates an excellent offering for organizations that require comprehensive and intelligent video management."
The VideoSphere Intelligent Video Management portfolio enables customers to use either all-IP video solutions or hybrid video networks that include both analog and IP cameras and leverage existing cabling infrastructure, while the Sun Fire servers work with the VideoSphere system to cost-effectively store high-resolution video for extended periods of time.
