C-COM Satellite Systems Inc. saw its 16th consecutive quarter in the black, with its first-quarter net income rising 20.7 per cent to $38,136.
The Ottawa-based maker of mobile satellite antenna systems said profits edged up from $31,607 a year earlier, while revenues increased by a modest 5.3 per cent to $1.5 million.
"While the sales of our fixed two-way satellite-based Internet services generated less revenue this quarter when compared to last year, we have recorded an increase of 26.7 per cent in sales of our flagship iNetVu Mobile platforms, which are becoming the number one choice for many satellite service companies worldwide," noted C-COM chief executive Leslie Klein in a statement.
Mr. Klein added that the company remains debt-free with a "significant" cash position.
