Bridgewater Systems has launched two new products for wireless and mobile service providers, as well as a new professional services group to help customers integrate and support their Bridgewater solutions.

The Ottawa-based company, which makes user traffic management software for service providers, announced that it was offering a WiMAX prepaid service control solution which allows service providers to place quotas based on the number of bytes, downloads and messages used, as well as offer self-service top-up capabilities before prepaid accounts are depleted.

The second new offering is an on-demand services solution that allows mobile service providers to offer flexible temporary plans for consumers who want to use bandwidth, wireless services or mobile content for a fixed duration of time, without having to pre-subscribe to a monthly multi-year service plan. The solution is also expected to increase service provider revenues by "encouraging impulse purchase of services and the trialing of new services."

As well, Bridgewater has formed its new professional services group, which will provide consulting services, solutions architecture, project management services, custom development services and co-managed services to help customers plan Internet protocol and data services and speed up their deployment to market.

The professional services group is based out of Bridgewater's head office in Ottawa, with regional representatives around the globe.
