Gatineau's Provance Technologies has teamed up with California-based BDNA Corp. to launch a new joint solution for software and IT asset management.

Provance, which is a provider of IT asset management software, said the two companies were announcing a combined offering which provides customers with the ability to quickly and accurately compare and manage their hardware and software costs, maintain licence conformance, respond to software audits and avoid fines from non-compliance with licensing rules.

"Today's enterprise organizations require a single solution that fully addresses their needs for both IT asset discovery and life-cycle management," said Provance CEO Gilles Lalonde in a statement. "The superior functional capability, seamless integration and competitive pricing of the Provance/BDNA solution is a compelling alternative to general purpose IT operational management suites for enterprises seeking a solution that's rich in depth as well as breadth."

The joint solution combines the analytics and discovery capabilities of BDNA's technology and the contract, licence and asset life-cycle management of the Provance solution.
