Gatineau's Zeligsoft has appointed a new chief executive officer, with its founder moving on to become chief technology officer.
The company, which makes software development tools for the embedded computing industry, said former Nortel executive Ross MacLeod had been brought on as president and CEO, while Zeligsoft founder Francis Bordeleau will become CTO and vice-president of product strategy.
"Ross brings mature leadership, with a deep understanding of the technical and business challenges within the embedded and communication systems market," said Zeligsoft chairman Dave Longbottom in a statement. "His passion for helping organizations truly benefit from the best in product development tools and technology will help bring increased value to our customers."
Mr. MacLeod has worked in the telecom and embedded platform industries for 25 years, and has led global operations and R&D work in Europe, Asia and North America. He had also been in charge of Nortel's computing technology lab in Ottawa and served as vice-president of engineering for Oregon-based RadiSys. His most recent role was as an independent consultant on technology management and improving product development effectiveness.
"I am thrilled to be joining this world-class team," stated Mr. MacLeod. "Zeligsoft has a vision and technology that promises to transform the process of building and evolving embedded software systems."
