Auberge McGee's Inn in Ottawa has landed on the jackpot and could be in for a big money round, with a stay at the Sandy Hill bed and breakfast to be featured on Jan. 8's episode of Wheel of Fortune as a potential prize.

The prize is part of Wheel of Fortune's B&B Week in conjunction with BedandBreakfast.com's 2007-08 web-based awards program for B&Bs and inns. The Texas-based web site features information and booking with thousands of inns and B&Bs all over the world. The criteria for selection of the Best of BedandBreakfast.com Awards was based on the nearly 10,000 B&B reviews inn-goers have posted since the launch of the review program a little over a year ago. Award winners are not ranked, rather they are listed alphabetically by state or country within each category.

The winners in the Canada category were Les Bons Matins Montreal Bed and Breakfast in Montreal, Graystone B&B Main Floor Suites in Niagara on the Lake and Auberge McGee's Inn in Ottawa.

Manager at Auberge McGee's Inn, Chantal Lavendal, said that this was first year that the B&B had been included on the awards list and she was excited to be able to offer a weekend getaway as a prize on the show.

"We are a family-run business so we have a very relaxed and laid back atmosphere. People tend to really like that," she told the OBJ. "We're really hoping someone wins the prize on the show tomorrow."

Wheel of Fortune, which has been in syndication for 24 years, is broadcast locally on cable 6 (A-Channel) and cable 9 (WDIV) at 7 p.m.
