Cognos's business intelligence solution is being used to power a Seattle software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider's offering to more than 700 companies.

Cognos said collaborative business software provider Daptiv Inc., formerly known as eProject, is standardizing on Cognos's business intelligence technology as a framework for Work Intelligence, its own web-based project and portfolio management (PPM) solution.

"Daptiv is quickly emerging as a leading SaaS vendor, providing a great showcase for Cognos as part of a dynamic SaaS offering," said Cognos vice-president of market and business development Jennifer Francis in a statement. "With a broad set of global and mid-market customers, our technology is ideally suited to helping those companies better understand how they are getting work done organizationally."

Work Intelligence has been released to more than 50,000 of Daptiv's users in global companies such as BP and Merrill Lynch, with plans to make the offering available to all of its 100,000 users across the 700 organizations.
