Third Brigade's host intrusion protection software has been selected by major antivirus company Trend Micro Inc. to add to its corporate security solution.

Trend Micro, which makes popular antivirus software PC-cillin, has licensed Third Brigade's advanced firewall and deep packet inspection technology to be integrated into its OfficeScan 8.0 corporate security solution.

"Our original equipment manufacturer (OEM) alliance with Trend Micro allows us to quickly deliver our best-of-breed host intrusion defence to the global enterprise market, and further entrenches our position as a market leader in this important and emerging segment of IT security," said Third Brigade CEO Wael Mohamed in a statement.

The Third Brigade offering, which includes an ongoing security update service, will be paired up with Trend Micro's Web Threat Protection product to help protect businesses from hackers while their workers are on and off corporate networks and accessing web-based applications.
