Software development outsourcing company bitHeads Inc. has almost tripled its revenues for the first half of 2007.
The Ottawa-based company saw revenues of $6.8 million in the first six months of the year a 187-per-cent gain from a year earlier as a result of the rapid growth in its games industry division and new software development partnerships.
"Our main strategic thrusts during the first half of the year were to leverage our deep voice-over-Internet-protocol (VoIP) expertise with new customers in the Boston area and to significantly grow our business in the games industry," said bitHeads CEO Scott Simpson in a statement.
The company, which is privately held, also pointed to several highlights from the first half of the year, including its acquisition of Ottawa and Montreal-based game studio RndLabs and its new partnerships with Boston-based communications product companies such as Brix Networks and Sonus Networks.
