Mxi Technologies has launched a new automated task planning feature to its Maintenix aviation maintenance management software.
The Ottawa-based company's software helps aircraft maintenance staff save time by generating and scheduling a set of work packages, beginning with the most important tasks. The software also informs planners of any issues which could prevent work from being accomplished, such as routing, insufficient capacity or unavailability of parts.
"The Maintenix system was already collecting the required information; now we are enabling our customers to use that information in a smart way," said Mxi Technologies president Les Hine in a statement. "With line planners no longer occupied with planning for the hundreds of predictive tasks that come up each day, they can focus their time on critical decisions and emergencies, leading to tremendous improvements in the productivity of line maintenance professionals."
Mxi's Maintenix product is used by such high-flying clients as KLM Royal-Dutch Airlines, Thales, Rolls-Royce and Boeing.
