It's been a season of highs for electronics design company Fidus Systems, which posted a record $1.8-million worth of new contracts during its first quarter and saw its 500th project booking in March.
"Nearly $600,000 in contracts were booked at our Toronto Design Centre," said Fidus president Michael Wakim in a statement. "Meanwhile, our business is growing in several U.S. regions."
The company said its new contracts in the first quarter included four six-month design projects for a major telecom vendor.
Fidus also booked and completed a project in a series of four-layer layout designs for DDR2 random access memory technology devices, and has begun work on a next-generation DDR3 memory evaluation system.
Meanwhile, the company also launched its 500th project for "a multinational company in the video industry," involving a series of designs for field-programmable gate array (FPGA) semiconductors, printed circuit board (PCB) layout and hardware.
