Business news junkies will be able to get their news through yet another medium starting April 9, with the launch of Canada's first business news radio station, CFBN (Canadian Financial and Business News) in Toronto.

Listeners will also be able to stream the station over the internet at cfbnnews.com.

The station will air market reports and programming from India and China and will also carry content from CCNMatthews and its U.S.-based subsidiary Market Wire.

CFBN will be managed by Newsroom Productions Inc. through its division CBN (Canada's Business Network), a Toronto-based radio syndication company that produces radio shows across the country including The Fred Ketchen Report and Weekends with Sheila Copps.

"Business is a missing format in Canadian radio, which is surprising because we really have everything else. Our stock market is strong and reaching new highs on a regular basis; there's never been a better time to launch this type of station," said Bryan Woodruff, president and GM of Newsroom Productions Inc., in the official announcement.

"CFBN will be more than just numbers and stock quotes, we will offer a business news perspective on everything - from political and social issues to world and international events."

Other programs will include U.S. radio and television personality Glenn Beck and talk show host Dennis Miller.

The new station will replace CFYZ, the current travel information station for Toronto Pearson International Airport.
