Ottawa-based TenXc Wireless Inc has launched its new spectrum-enhancement product, intended to improve wireless network capacity and quality using existing cell site infrastructure.
The Intelligent Radio Frequency solutions provider today announced the availability of its DCS Bi-Sector Array product, which is targeted for use in high-traffic "hot spot" areas and markets with limited spectrum.
The product aims to double the network capacity for voice and data services, while reducing the time and cost associated with installing new cell sites or finding new spectrum with its "drop and insert" design.
"Operators all around the world are faced with an increasing challenge (to provide) a reliable network to meet the exploding growth in user services they are experiencing today," said TenXc Wireless chief executive Joe Hickey. "In many markets, spectrum remains both a scarce and expensive resource ... Our expanding Bi-Sector Array portfolio provides service providers a highly cost-effective way to increase network capacity to support service growth and the rollout of new data-rich mobile services."
TenXc's new DCS Bi-Sector Array works with the GSM, EDGE and UMTS networks to improve the services of operators in international markets where spectrum or new sites are difficult to acquire and justify.
