Fidus Systems reported a 33-per-cent increase in third-quarter revenues to nearly $1.3 million, the company's "best-ever" results for the period.
"We've added 11 new customers and signed 43 contracts for electronic design services since July," chief executive Michael Wakim said in a statement. "Fidus is designing products for video, aerospace, wireless, and industrial controls, just to name a few. I'm pleased that we are broadening our customer base, both geographically and technologically.
The Ottawa-based company did not report any profitability figures, as it is privately held, but noted that 34 per cent of its Q3 revenues had come from design work for several U.S.-based clients.
Fidus said that five of its new customers are in Toronto and Southern Ontario which is especially important in light of the recent launch of its design centre in Toronto while its other customers include a company in Europe and several based in the United States.
The company has also expanded its workforce by 10 per cent since July, and was recently named one of Ottawa's Top 10 Employers of Distinction by the OBJ's Ottawa HR magazine.
