Fidus Systems is announcing earned record revenues of more than $1.4 million during its first quarter this year. Revenue rose 40 percent over that for the same period in 2005 and the company just completed its eighth-consecutive profitable quarter.

The Ottawa-based electronic design services company also achieved a record for quarterly bookings, signing more than $1.5 million in new contracts for its services.

"Our new bookings include several large contracts with repeat customers, as well as a number of first-time engagements," says Fidus president Michael Wakim. "The last three quarters have been the company's strongest for contract bookings. It's a tremendous achievement for our team."

The company supplies electronic designs to companies that build electronics products and its customers range from small start-ups and SMEs to large multinationals in San Jose, Boston, New York, Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver.
