TrueContext has hired a team of experienced technology executives to expand and develop new markets
Jeff Lindauer has been appointed CEO. He succeeds founder Alvaro Pombo, who will become president and executive chairman of the board. Mr. Lindauer is a 20-year tech veteran, including a 14-year stint in senior positions with MCI and more recently with a series of small and mid-sized companies.
In addition, Omar Leeman has assumed the role of senior vice-president of sales and customer support, while Ted Gauld has been named vice-president of marketing. Cyril Soga has been named vice-president of engineering.
TrueContext develops technology that allows wireless operators such as Rogers to provide a series of mobile business forms such as expense reports, time sheets and work orders to portable devices like the BlackBerry and pocket PCs. Mobile forms are particularly well suited for field service technicians, field inspection work, and sales executives.
"TrueContext has a great mousetrap," says Mr. Lindauer, explaining why he chose to join the company. He describes mobile forms as a "very compelling market opportunity" with a high return on investment for users.
"Operators are looking for what's beyond e-mail," he says.
Mr. Lindauer applauds those who've taken the company this far, but says there was a desire to augment existing management to take the company to the next stage.
The company is in talks with three large U.S. carriers to deploy mobile forms technology, and Mr. Lindauer says announcements can be expected. TrueContext is also looking at the European/Mideast/African market and Asia.
Mr. Lindauer says the company is well capitalized and seeing "meaningful traction" on revenue.
TrueContext has about 50 employees.
