Spotwave Wireless is unveiling a new system to improve indoor signal strength for wireless users.
The Ottawa-based company is announcing the development of "Zen", a wireless coverage product that dramatically improves indoor wireless reception for spaces up to 2,500 square feet.
"Prosumers are becoming increasingly dependent on wireless devices in their day-to-day lives and as a result, are demanding more reliable access to their wireless services," says Bill Carlin, Spotwave CEO. "With this increased dependency comes a corresponding demand for quality wireless signal indoors."
The company's new product is designed for wireless use at home and in small offices and improves signal strength of cell phones, PDAs and other mobile devices across the entire PCS band. It uses patented technology from Spotwave commercial products to constantly monitor indoor signal strength and prevent oscillation and harmful interference while ensuring the best signal possible for users.
"We expect Zen to be a hit with end customers, as well as with the retailers, wireless dealers, satellite dealers and home installation professionals who have traditionally delivered the residential solutions these customers seek," says Sam Baumel, Spotwave's AVP sales and marketing.
The product will be available for sale in the second quarter of 2006 through the company's website and via retail and channel partners.
