Ottawa businesspeople will have the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the most important names in Ferrari history and see the car that vaulted the great Gilles Villeneuve to the top of the Formula 1 pack in 1980.
Preston Street will be the venue for the Ottawa Exotic and Race Car Parade Luncheon on Friday, June 3.
Presented by the Ottawa Business Journal, the luncheon will feature Bud Moeller, former Grand Prix driver and owner of the Gilles Villeneuve 312T5 F1 Ferrari, Luigi Chinetti, Ferrari race driver and designer, and Stephane Boudreault, former marketing VP for the Montreal INDY and current president of TRAC Motorsports.
Event organizer Marc Caroll Dupuis says the luncheon will kick off weekend events that will attract about 35,000 people to Preston Street to watch the 2005 Ottawa Exotic and Race Car Parade.
"And this year we have something we think the people are really going to like. Instead of just walking past a lineup of cars sitting on the road, these ones will be moving and at 2 p.m. we'll have the speed show on Carling where the cars will open up and show what they can do."
Needless to say, Carling around Preston will be closed.
All in all, it promises to be a very memorable, exciting event for race fans and casual observers alike.
It all kicks off at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
