Members of the media and Ottawa's business community will pit themselves against the best local high schools have to offer on Monday in an event supported by OCRI, Junior Achievers and Nortel Networks.
The Titan Challenge on Monday evening is meant to raise the profile of JA TITAN, an online business simulation game at http://titan.ja.org and offered by Colorado-based Junior Achievement Inc.
The game prepares high school students for the real world by exposing them to real-life business concepts.
JA TITAN is a global online game that climaxes in the fall of each year with one final competition that has US$10,000 in prize money up for grabs. Last year's final competition was held in Barcelona.
Monday's challenge will pit the top four teams from area high schools AY Jackson, All Saints and Notre Dame against members of the business community and the media, including Ottawa Business Journal publisher Michael Curran.
The challenge takes place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Innovation Plaza,
3500 Carling Ave. The cost is $20 per person in advance or $30 at the door. The registration deadline is March 19. Register online at www.ocri.ca/events/registration.html
